Christopher A. Eirich

Power Trader & Electricity Markets Strategist

Welcome. This is a place to explore the work and ideas that have shaped my career in power markets, along with the wider questions that sit around it: risk, decision-making, systems, discipline, and the patterns that reveal themselves over time.

I am a U.S. power markets specialist with 15 years of experience across trading, risk, and analytics. My work has focused primarily on PJM, with additional experience in MISO, NYISO, SPP, and IESO. I build and apply both discretionary and systematic approaches to short-term electricity markets, with a particular interest in price formation, grid fundamentals, execution, and the structure of risk.

  • 15 years across power trading, risk management, and market analytics

  • Deepest specialization in PJM

  • Additional market experience in MISO, NYISO, SPP, and IESO

  • Background spanning discretionary trading, systematic methods, and risk oversight
